Description

This bundle includes seven applications, and all focused on improving safety practices and identifying potential hazards commonly found in manufacturing and warehouse environments

  • Walking Working Surfaces: This interactive simulation navigates learners through a virtual warehouse setting, emphasizing the identification of common hazards associated with walking and working surfaces. These hazards, if overlooked, have the potential to result in injuries or other workplace incidents.
  • Machine Guarding: This interactive simulation immerses users in a virtual workshop setting. They are tasked with examining a range of machinery, from hand tools and power tools to saws, with a keen eye on identifying missing machine guards. Specific areas of focus include point-of-operation hazards, in-running nip points, as well as belts, shafts, pulleys, and gears.
  • PPE (Body, Hands, Feet): This interactive simulation challenges participants to inspect Personal Protective Equipment prior to commencing work activities. The emphasis is on identifying any defects and ensuring the appropriate selection of PPE for the body, hands, and feet. This ensures protection against risks such as thermal and chemical burns, vibration hazards, and extreme temperature conditions.
  • PPE (Eyes, Face, Head): In this interactive simulation, users’ step into a virtual machine shop environment. The goal is to create an understanding of the significance of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the eyes, face, and head. As learners navigate the virtual setting, they acquire knowledge about when and how to choose the right protective equipment, underscoring the importance of thorough inspection before actual usage.
  • Electrical Hazards (Burns, Electrocution, and Shock): This immersive simulation guides users through a warehouse setting. Learners are taught to identify potential hazards linked to electrical burns, electrocution, and shock injuries. Learners not only become aware of these potential dangers but also grasp the significance of taking preventative steps and adhering to safety guidelines.
  • Electrical Hazards (Arc Flash-Blast, Fire, Explosion): This interactive simulation places learners in a virtual warehouse setting allowing them to explore typical workplace situations that could result in an arc flash, arc blast, or an electrical fire and explosion. The immersive design facilitates practical understanding and offers a safe environment for learners to explore these learning objectives.
  • General Industry Safety Overview: This interactive simulation leads learners through the intricacies of a virtual warehouse environment. As participants progress, they are able to develop and apply a more proactive approach to hazard identification by sharpening their visual literacy skills. The main objective is to train them to spot and understand typical hazards, thereby preventing potential injuries or accidents. This hands-on approach not only boosts their awareness but also prepares them for real-world situations, emphasizing the importance of safety in workplace environments.

Learning objectives

  • Develop an awareness of different hazards that can appear on the working surfaces around the workplace
  • Identify the main different types of machine guards;Identify types of hazards that can be mitigated with machine guarding
  • Identify types of PPE for the body, hands, and feet and the hazards that they provide protection for
  • Identify types of PPE for the eyes, face, and head and the hazards that they provide protection for
  • Identify and assess electrical hazards, integrate best work practices to prevent injuries, and to develop self-awareness around electricity
  • Develop an overall understanding of common workplace hazards
