After weeks of prep work, the Immerse Team arrived at the Business Design Centre in London last week eager to start their Future Tech Now adventure!
We assembled our stand, set up two HTC Vive headsets and VR Laptops and waited for everyone to arrive!
Before long, guests were eager to don a VR headset and try out Immerse’s VR platform for themselves. Users stood either side of the stand and were walked through an assembly procedure by a member of the Immerse team joining the VR scene remotely from their London office.
Immerse’s collaborative platform means that, although in this case two of the three participants were in the same room, users could have the same experience from anywhere across the world. Additional guests could also join via web browsers, making for a truly collaborative experience whether or not there is universal access to VR headsets.
Once in the headsets, guests were invited to run through a scenario built by Immerse for satcom company Inmarsat. All three users were virtually transported to a desert and faced with multiple parts of a satellite terminal. The trainer instructed the users how to assemble the terminal in a very quick time. Within a few minutes of every session the fully constructed terminal was up and running and guests had a better appreciation of the power of learning in interactive virtual environments.
The two screens on the stand showed the audience what each user was seeing in VR. We also had our VR training video walkthrough playing on the stand, running through the experience from the point of view of a web-based user of Immerse’s training scenarios.

In addition to our stand, Immerse’s COO Justin Parry was invited to speak in two different occasions at the Future Tech Event.
At his first session, Justin was part of a panel discussing The Super Worker/ Future-Proofing your Workforce.
Secondly he presented his thoughts on Interactive Multi-User VR for learning in Businesses.
